Stainless Steel Rainbow Filigree Necklaces

My newest obsession; Rainbow Filigree!

I love using Amazon.com to find new charms to create exciting pieces. I have reticently found this stainless steel rainbow filigree and have been using it in a bunch of my listings.

At first I thought it would look great with silver. So I tried a few things and nothing looked right. I put the filigree in a storage container and I happened to have a bronze charm sitting next to it. A light bulb went off! I started pulling out bronze charms and seeing how they looked with the rainbow filigree. In my opinion, they looked amazing!

I have created 11 necklaces so far with it, and more to come. I sold one necklace to a co-worker who absolutely loved it. No sales on the filigree necklaces on my Etsy shop yet, but I'm hopeful.

Every year Etsy has their Design Awards. Each Etsy seller is allowed to submit one listing of their choice, in hopes it will be chosen. This is my first year to submit an item for consideration. I know the chances of winning are low but I had to try. I decided I wanted to submit a piece featuring the rainbow filigree I have become obsessed with.

My submission for the Etsy Design Awards.

I'm super excited to see how my necklace fairs against some of the other submissions. Let me know what you think of this and the other necklaces I have in my shop!

Thank you and safe travels,

~Gina

Edit: I received and email from Etsy. My necklace did not make the cut. There's always next year!

My First Blog Post

Greetings! This is my very first blog post, ever! Please bare with me as I figure things out.

One of my major hobbies is making jewelry. My grandmother and my mom are super crafty, so I believe that is where I got my creativity from. I started making jewelry back in 2010. I wanted to make necklaces that had charms or pendants on them, I was not into beading. So I bought a few charms and some chain and got to work.

I sold a few pieces to friends and family and they encouraged me to open an Etsy shop. I opened my shop shortly after with a couple random necklaces and actually sold a few. Then my anxiety started acting up and I decided not to renew any listings. I thought I wasn't good enough and didn't think people would like what I had to offer.

Several years later I met the man of my dreams and he encouraged me to open my shop again. I changed the name and reopened. Though the anxiety is still there, I don't plan on closing up shop any time soon. I work on it any chance I have.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. I know it's not the greatest blog post but I'm still learning. Please comment any helpful suggestions.
